As small business owners ourselves, we know how much time and effort has to go into any endeavor for it to become and remain prosperous. We’re not a faceless corporation that reduces our customers or suppliers to mere commodities that can be easily strained or manipulated in the name of a higher profit margin. That’s simply an archaic business model that can’t be sustained forever. We make sure that our fresh roasted coffee is not only the highest quality possible for our customers, but that it’s also a solid investment for our suppliers. We believe that NH coffee can be better and do all in our power to make it so. This is why we’re proud to be a member of the Rainforest Alliance as well as to be certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for selling organic coffee.
Both institutions do all that they can to help farmers around the world and to stop the harmful deforestation of extremely delicate ecosystems around the globe. The USDA works in America to ensure that privately owned lands are well managed so that they’ll remain economically viable and result in a sustainable ecosystem that will continue to produce products that we all use every day. According to the USDA, “Seventy percent of the nation’s land is privately owned and conservation of our nation’s private lands not only results in healthy soil, water, air, plants, animals and ecosystems, it also provides productive and sustainable working lands.”
Our Commitment to Sustainability

When we say that we sell organic coffee, it means that we’ve been certified by the USDA as a company that also helps to maintain sustainable and profitable ecosystems that, in turn, supply us and our customers with fresh roasted coffee that does no harm to our country’s fertile lands. Basically, healthy land produces healthy products, and we’re proud to be part of that simple equation.
Being part of the Rainforest Alliance means that our internationally supplied products do no harm to the fertile lands and hard working farmers around the world. The Rainforest Alliance says about themselves, “We work to ensure millions of acres of working forests, farms, ranchlands, and hotel properties are managed according to rigorous sustainability standards.” They do this to ensure that farms and forests around the world are harvested in ways that keep them sustainably viable and that workers on those lands are managed in a way that is beneficial to them and to their ecosystems.
