Fresh Roasted Coffee from Fresh Farmers and Forests

Posted by Kevin on 1/28/2014 to General
As small business owners ourselves, we know how much time and effort has to go into any endeavor for it to become and remain prosperous. We’re not a faceless corporation that reduces our customers or suppliers to mere commodities that can be easily strained or manipulated in the name of a higher profit margin. That’s simply an archaic business model that can’t be sustained forever. We make sure that our fresh roasted coffee is not only the highest quality possible for our customers, but that it’s also a solid investment for our suppliers. We believe that NH coffee can be better and do all in our power to make it so. This is why we’re proud to be a member of the Rainforest Alliance as well as to be certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for selling organic coffee.

Fair Trade Fresh Roasted Coffee

The fact that technology is advancing at such an unprecedented and exponential rate is made apparent in almost every aspect of our lives. Every day, we are inundated with a landscape based on a corporate mentality where people’s labor becomes a mere commodity and middle men punctuate the socioeconomic culture we all live in with loop holes and corner cutting. When it comes to the interest of consumers, this ultimately leads to an overall decreased level of quality when it comes to many of the goods and services that we all need and want. This is why, at Woodshed Roasting, we strongly emphasize our relationship with, “Fair Trade,” by making fresh roasted coffee available from all over the globe.

Micro-Roasters Targeted by Online Scam

Posted by Kevin on 11/27/2013 to General

Since our inception, Woodshed Roasting has been a company that highly supports local businesses as well as similar small coffee roasters around the country. While not dutifully producing roasted coffee beans, we always find the time to stay up to date with industry news. This is why we’ve recently been very disappointed after reading an article from the Daily Coffee News in this month’s, “Roast Magazine.” It turns out that someone has been targeting small coffee roasters like us with an unusual online request for 250 pounds of fresh roasted coffee. Roast magazine has confirmed that numerous micro-roasters have received an email from a man calling himself David Walters of Walters & Sons Ltd., or as Mark Curry.

Fresh Roasted Coffee: Decreasing the Risk of Liver Cancer?

As one of New England’s premier coffee roasters, we at Woodshed Roasting are proud to announce that the new Vendor’s Exchange International issue has a primary focus on the developments in coffee making, both in the U.S. and abroad. And this particular issue is important to us because it details a study done in Italy that attributes a lower risk of liver cancer to the drinking of fresh roasted coffee. Woodshed Roasting is already aware of the many great benefits of drinking coffee made from some of the finest gourmet coffee beans in the world, but this new Italian study has us on the edge of our seats.

Fresh Roasted Coffee at the Deerfield Fair

Posted by Kevin on 9/17/2013 to General

It's fitting that New England's oldest, “Family Fair,” welcomes the organic and locally made coffee of the Woodshed Roasting Company. From Sept. 26-29th, at the Deerfield Fair, we'll be serving up our own brand of java for the fair's attendants. Our fresh roasted coffee started, not as long ago as the Deerfield Fair, but from similar humble and honest beginnings. From his small garage in Laconia, NH, Brad, from Woodshed Roasting, decided to become a fresh coffee roaster. He began brewing his own fresh roasted coffee in 2010. From there, he reached out to locally owned businesses and soon saw a growing market for the roasted coffee beans he was producing.

Coffee & Weight Loss:

4 Ways Your Favorite Drink Can Help Contribute to Weight Loss.

Coffee's role in a weight loss plan has often been hotly debated. Coffee can have both negative and positive effects on your health and weight depending on how it is consumed, and of course, what you put in it. Learning how to harness coffee's positive attributes will be essential. The information below covers some ways to lose weight with coffee by keeping a few things in mind.

Calorie burning. Skip the cream, flavored creamers and sugar. This is an obvious but extremely important fact to keep in mind for losing weight with coffee. Adding large amounts of cream and sugar to your coffee can give you as much calorie content to that of a candy bar or more. If you cannot wean yourself entirely onto black coffee, try using skim milk and sugar-free sweeteners instead.

Coffee after dinner may help to reduce cravings. One of the benefits of consuming coffee after a meal is its role as an appetite suppressant. Try drinking coffee after your dinner each night. This may help you to reduce your cravings for dessert or other late-night snack foods before bed.  Also, caffeine may stimulate thermogenesis — one way your body generates heat and energy from digesting food.

Try drinking coffee an hour or so before a workout. Coffee consumed before a workout can increase your energy and can help you to get through a more high intensity workout. If you’re an early morning workout individual, coffee can help you to be more alert and focused during your routine.

Drink plenty of water. Coffee can act as a diuretic in many people, meaning that it will cause you to lose fluids. Stay hydrated and keep your stomach fuller by drinking a cup of water for every cup of coffee you drink.

REMEMBER:  For the best weight loss results, your coffee consumption should be paired with a balanced, healthy diet and regular exercise.
